Gallium granules are made from high-purity Ga (gallium) with a purity of 99.99%. At room temperature, they are silver-white solids, which melt to a silver-white liquid at 29.76°C. Liquid gallium has excellent undercooling properties, remaining liquid even when cooled to 0°C, and is insoluble in water. Gallium expands by approximately 3.2% when heated, and its hardness ranges from 1.5 to 2.5. Gallium can wet glass surfaces, so it should not be stored in glass containers.
