\nTitanium carbide (TiC) is a gray metallic powder with the chemical formula TiC. It belongs to the compound of titanium and carbon, with a cubic crystal structure. The material has a density of 4.93 g\/cm\u00b3 and a high melting point of 3140\u00b0C, making it one of the hardest materials (Mohs hardness between 9 and 10). Titanium carbide exhibits excellent electrical conductivity, chemical inertness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature stability, making it suitable for various harsh environmental conditions. It is insoluble in water but can dissolve in nitric acid and aqua regia.<\/p>\n\n
