Cerium Oxide (CeO₂) is a white or pale yellow powder with high density (7.13 g/cm³) and a high melting point (around 2,600°C). It is widely used in polishing, optical coatings, and as a buffer layer for high-temperature superconductors. This material is also used in automotive catalytic converters for sensors and can evaporate under vacuum conditions to form antireflective layers.
