Product Overview:
Nickel powder is a powdery substance primarily composed of metallic nickel, typically appearing as light gray or gray-black irregular particles. It possesses good ductility and moderate hardness. Nickel powder is prone to oxidation in humid air and is produced mainly through gas-phase, liquid-phase, and solid-phase methods. It has a density of 8.902 g/cm³, a melting point of 1453ºC, and a boiling point of 2732ºC. When slowly dissolved in dilute acids, nickel powder releases hydrogen and forms green divalent nickel ions (Ni²⁺).
Features:
- High Purity:Purity of 99.99% ensures exceptional chemical and physical performance.
- Excellent Corrosion Resistance:Forms a dense oxide film in humid environments, effectively preventing further oxidation.
- Good Ductility:Suitable for various processing needs, easy to shape and apply.
Applications:
- Alloy Manufacturing:Used to produce nickel steel, nickel silver, and other corrosion-resistant alloys, widely applied in stainless steel and various alloy steels.
- Electroplating:Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, nickel powder is commonly used in the electroplating industry to enhance product durability.
- Catalysts:Employed in the production of Raney nickel catalysts for hydrogenation reactions in the chemical industry.
- Battery Materials:Used in the manufacturing of nickel-cadmium batteries and other advanced battery types.
- Ceramics and Chemical Vessels:Nickel powder can be used to manufacture ceramic products and specialized chemical vessels.
- Electronic Circuits and Pigments:Utilized in the electronics industry for circuit production and in the production of green pigments.
- Aerospace and Defense Applications:Electrolytic nickel is used in manufacturing machinery for aircraft, tanks, ships, and other military and civilian industries.
