Erbium is a silvery-white metal with a melting point of 1529°C, a boiling point of 2863°C, and a density of 9.006g/cm³. It exhibits antiferromagnetic properties at low temperatures and becomes strongly ferromagnetic near absolute zero. Erbium also has superconducting capabilities. While it is easily oxidized by air and water at room temperature, the oxide of erbium appears rose-red.
