Magnesium fluoride crystal is a high-purity optical material with excellent transparency in the ultraviolet and infrared regions. It is widely used in precision optics, laser systems, and infrared imaging due to its low refractive index, high durability, and resistance to moisture. This crystal is essential in specialized optical components, coatings, and scientific research, providing reliable performance in demanding environments.
Product Description
Magnesium Fluoride (MgF₂) is a colorless tetragonal crystal or powder with a rutile-type crystal structure. It has excellent transmittance properties in both ultraviolet and infrared spectra and exhibits weak purple fluorescence when heated under electro-optical conditions. Magnesium fluoride is insoluble in water and alcohols but slightly soluble in dilute acids and dissolves in nitric acid. It has a high melting point and exceptional polarization properties, making it widely used in optical applications. Magnesium fluoride contains ionic bonds and reacts with strong oxidizers.
