MCM-22 is a molecular sieve with a unique dual-channel structure, consisting of two distinct, non-interconnected pore systems. The intralayer pores are 0.40×0.59nm 10-membered ring two-dimensional sinusoidal channels, while the interlayer pores are 0.71×0.82nm 12-membered ring supercages that open to the exterior. This exceptional pore structure gives MCM-22 outstanding catalytic properties, especially for reactions such as alkylation, isomerization, disproportionation, and catalytic cracking in gasoline reforming.
